This is my blog . . . and I will not be intimidated by anyone as to what I can and cannot publish. . . . ~Jean
Last night almost out-of-the-blue Drake Bailey emailed me and what followed was a brief series of email exchanges in which I got the strong feeling that he was telling me I should not have published a comment back in September that included a statement by someone that said Drake is less than a stellar individual. It was clear Drake was telling me that not only should I not have published such a statement, but that he was also implying if not warning me not to do so in the future.
In essence, I told him this is my blog, and I do not regulate comments to please others – or in fear of their possible reprisals. I have told my readers that they can express disagreement if they do so appropriately. Drake does not seem to understand this. I also told Drake that his private emails to me were out of line.
Because I had experience years ago with such efforts at intimidation, I know that if allowed to continue, it likely will escalate, and I’m simply not going to permit that to happen. I feel like you, my readers, need to know that I will never permit anyone to intimidate me. I also want to make it clear that I do not support Drake and his work.
Hugs,
~Jean
PS I will not be available on my blog this morning.
